अब जाकर विधान ने ईरांशी का चेहरा देखा जो बिल्कुल लाल पड़ चुका था। वाकई, उसकी तबियत ठीक नहीं थी। विधान की ग्रे ब्लैड रेड आईज ईरांशी की लाल हो चुकी ब्लू आईज से टकराईं... फिर अचानक विधान ने बंदूक ईरांशी के सिर पर लगा दी। वो ट्रिगर दबाने ही वाला था कि
“विधान... मैं हाथ जोड़ता हूँ!” अगस्त्य ने रुंधी हुई आवाज में कहा। “लेकिन उसे छोड़ दे... तुझे मेरे साथ जो करना है, कर ले, पर उसे बीच में मत ला। उसकी तबियत सही नहीं है।”
अगस्त्य की आँखों में आँसू थे। उसे देख विधान के होंठों के कोने हल्के से मुड़ गए। “ठीक है... छोड़ दूँगा।” विधान ने धीमे से कहा, फिर एना की तरफ देखा और इशारा किया। एना ने तुरंत अगस्त्य के सामने कुछ पेपर्स फेंके। अगस्त्य, जो घुटनों के बल बैठा था, उन पेपर्स को देखते ही बोला,“पेन…”
